We all know Epcot is known for it's festivals. Fan favorites are always up for debate however right the Taste of Flower and Garden Festival is happening and boy do I love it.
Being pregnant obviously makes me want to eat just a tad more but this year I have found some great options. Each one are must haves eat time I visit.
Here is my top 5 picks from this years festival...
Beef Tenderloin Tips- Canada (Northern Bloom)
Now there is always a debate on whether to start in Canada or Mexico and I am totally team Canada at this festival. The Beef Tenderloin Tips are covered in mushroom bordelaise sauce that gives the meat the perfect added touch. My favorite in the dish is the potatoes that lay under which when covered in thee sauce = PERFECTION.
I for sure give this dish a 4.5/5 I have found the dish to be hit or miss at times with the meat portions. The dish is $6.75 and a great way to kick off the day.
2. Seared Scallops-Canada (Northern Bloom)
Not a beef eater? The Seared Scallops at the same booth is a great option as well. This item is paired with french green beans and potatoes topped with a brown butter vinagrette and bacon... OMG let's say CHEF'S KISS! I absolutely love this dish. Getting a piece of each item in every bite is the only way to eat this dish. The flavors pair well together and will leave you wanting more.
This dish gets a straight 5/5 from me and comes with a $7 price point that I have no issue with.
3. Pecan Cake- America (Magnolia Terrace)
After all that savory it's time for something sweet. If you are a nut/pecan lover this cake is great. The cake is topped with a maple whipped cream and includes caramel and whole pecans. The cake is a little firm but not dry at all. The combo of the whipped cream and caramel gives the perfect touch. Inside the cake you will find chopped pecans and if you need more just grab a whole pecan from the side in your bites.
This is a rich piece of cake at $4.75 I was happy with the size. The Pecan cake gets a 4/5 in my book. Definitely give it a try.
4. Violet Lemonade- Showcase Plaza (Pineapple Promenade)
This is a FAN FAVORITE and I for sure could not make this without including the Frozen Violet Lemonade. This classic has been around for ages and a hit of the festival. It reminds me of a frozen kool-aid slushy tart yet sweet. The edible flower it is topped with is always a no for me.
The drink is $4.50 and on the smaller side. I give it a 4/5 while a great drink on a hot day it at times before has tasted very concentrated/ super sugary.
5. Mixed Berry Buttermilk Cake- Showcase Plaza (Pineapple Promenade)
Pictured above with the violet lemonade this was a new try for me. The cake was not too sweet which made the berries a great addition. The mix of sweet and tart made each bite better and better. The one thing I wish this had was a whipped cream or small scoop of ice cream. That would make it simply even better.
I highly recommend this for $5.00 it's a great sweeter option. Overall a 4.5/5 in my book.
The Taste of Epcot Flower & Garden Festival will be going until July 5th. Be sure to checkout these favorites plus the other great booths on your next visit.
Until our next expedition.....
