Our Stay at Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive

Nestled right in the International Drive area of Orlando you will find The Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive. We were able to stay at this amazing resort for a couple nights for a staycation and boy was it needed.

The I-Drive District of Orlando features amazing food, entertainment and fun for families traveling to the area. This resort has a motto of Stay, Play and Relax - and this was exactly what we did.

The Room:

Our room was on of our favorite reasons we loved staying here. We were in a King Suite that included a King bed, a pull out sofa, plus a small wet area. We also had a adjoining family fun suite that had another bed plus bunk beds!

Between the two rooms you could easily sleep 8 people and would share two bathrooms between the two. The rooms offer balconies that are great for morning or evening relaxation moments. In addition to the rooms being spacious and clean they truly had a cozy vibe making you feel right at home.

The amenities of this resort feature:

-Two pools and a jacuzzi

-Shuttles to Universal Orlando and Seaworld Orlando

-Fitness Center

-On Site Dining Options

-Discount admission to the Wheel at Icon Park

The Location:

What really made me love this hotel is the location. There is so many fun activities close by including Icon Park, The Pointe Orlando and even the new Walt Disney World Store.

We ventured over to Icon Park where we were able to enjoy The Wheel as well as the Carousel on the Promenade at Icon Park!

This was our first time experiencing The Wheel and it was loads of fun. I recommend purchasing tickets in advance to head straight to the attraction. Once inside they will take your photo and there is an opportunity to purchase drinks and snacks for the trip. The ride takes about 18-20 minutes as you soar 400ft above the Orlando skyline.

A fun feature is you can connect to your capsules bluetooth and play your favorite tunes for the ride. The capsules are equipped with AC and stabilized so that you feel secure. Tickets start at about $28.99 per person and is a great way to either start or finish your vacation to the city beautiful!

The Carousel is fun addition here as well. Kids can pick from over 20 animals ranging from horses to zebras. This new attraction authentic and will leave you amazed as the craftsmanship is just GRAND.

Children must be 42 inches tall or accompanied by an adult. The cost is $6 per child for the first ride and $2 for each additional ride. Adults pay just $2 to ride which is great for families.

Dining:

On property of the Wyndham Orlando Resort I-Drive they offer two dining options. The Lobby Bar opens daily at 6 a.m. and features Starbucks Coffee and light breakfast options. In the evening you can swing by for a cocktail, beer or light bites.

You can also check out the Gatorville Poolside Bar & Grill. They serve breakfast which is a buffet plus lunch and dinner. This location will have your typical American dining options and is open until midnight.

Looking for a more exciting night out with the family? How about joining the Pirate crew over at The Pirates Dinner Adventure! This exciting 90 minute show will have you set sail for a fun adventure that will have you singing, clapping and shouting!

Upon arrival you will be greeted and have a family photo taken (this can be purchased later if you like). I recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to the showtime to experience the pre-show options such as grabbing souvenirs, face painting, drinks from the bar and more. Once seated you have the option to purchase appetizers but the price of the experience includes a three-course meal. You will receive a Caesar salad, a main entree and dessert. Unlimited soft drinks is included as well but you can pay for optional upgrades.

The show itself can be loud so if you have a child who is sensitive to sounds be aware. It is interactive meaning there are opportunities where you can be a part of the show. Tickets start at $72.95 for adults. We would definitely visit The Pirates Dinner Adventure again!

Overall our stay at Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive was amazing. It made for great family time and just relaxation. With summer travel coming up we recommend checking into Wyndham I-Drive.

Until our next expedition.....
